| Philip (Flip) Pidot, MBA, CFA, CFE |
Born in New York’s 26th District in 1976 and raised on the north shore of Long Island, Flip is proud to be a lifelong New Yorker, currently living in the heart of east midtown.
As an accomplished financial professional, Flip is committed to bringing real-world solutions to the complex problems affecting the lives and livelihoods of the people and businesses in New York.
Flip’s professional experience includes investment management, strategic business consulting, new venture development, and corporate fraud investigation. His career began with Arthur Andersen’s elite Business Risk Consulting practice, where he led projects supporting some of the most prominent investigations of major corporate fraud and other white collar crimes, working with U.S. Attorneys, the FBI, and the SEC. Flip currently works in investment management, focusing on companies in out-of-favor industries and those facing corporate governance problems.
A great supporter of local entrepreneurship, Flip has amassed extensive and wide-ranging small business experience. In recent years, he has served as a strategic consultant for several young companies in New York, in fields including education, hospitality, retail, e-commerce, and entertainment media. He also had the opportunity to perform volunteer consulting services for lower Manhattan businesses that found themselves suddenly unprofitable in the post-9/11 downturn that afflicted the neighborhood. Flip sits on the Board of Advisors for the Stern Business Incubator at New York University’s Stern Business School and also serves as a New Venture Mentor for NYU student-entrepreneurs launching new enterprises in New York.
Flip holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School, where he founded Virtual Asset Exchange, winning the school’s Business Concept Competition and earning a place in the Darden Progressive Incubator. Earlier, Flip received a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, where he enjoyed serving his fellow students as President of his residence hall. In his senior year, Flip won the University’s Sheehan Economics Prize for his honors thesis investigating collusive pricing practices in the airline industry.
Flip is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder, and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, MENSA of Greater New York, the CFA Institute, the NYPD 17th Precinct Community Council, and New York Road Runners. An avid long-distance runner, Flip was thrilled to complete his fourth marathon last November with his first running of the ING New York Marathon.
