New York, NY - Today, Friends of Flip Pidot, an authorized candidate committee registered with the New York State Board of Elections, announced that Philip (Flip) Pidot is a candidate for the State Senate in New York's 26th District in 2006.

Home to more than 300,000 New Yorkers, the 26th District is located in New York City on the east side of Manhattan, stretching from Gramercy to Carnegie Hill and including such landmarks as Times Square, Central Park, the United Nations, the Empire State Building, and Grand Central Station.

"I'm looking forward to engaging the people of the 26th District to discuss how we can work together to make Albany work better for all of us," said Pidot, a financial professional with a background in investment management, strategic consulting, and fraud investigation.

"I share the commitment of all New Yorkers to preserving the status of our city and our state as the best place in the world to live, work, and play. Unfortunately, New York's abusive cost of living and doing business, owing primarily to our legislative choices, has led to the fastest outmigration rate in the country and an abysmal ranking of 50th in statewide business tax climate."

Pidot has optimistic aspirations for the State of New York. He continued, " Unmatched innovation, creativity, and productivity have long epitomized New York and the city has driven national and global growth and prosperity for generations.

"That so many residents and businesses are now finding it impossible to cope with the state-imposed financial burden poses a real danger to our sustainability and prosperity. I look forward to serving the people of the 26th District by taking their message to Albany and helping return New York to its rightful place as the world's foremost patron of economic and cultural progress."
